The European Board of Surgery Qualification in Emergency Surgery is a postgraduate qualification of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).  The examination consists of 100 multiple choice questions covering the range of emergency surgery and a 6-station objective structured clinical evaluation session that explores clinical knowledge in more depth.  Details of the knowledge required for the exam can be found on the UEMS website.

It is designed for surgeons who have completed their specialist training and who practise Emergency Surgery.

To demonstrate your commitment to the field of Emergency Surgery and benchmark your knowledge and experience to an international standard.  Successful candidates will be awarded the Fellowship of the European Board of Surgery in Emergency Surgery – FEBS(EmSurg).
